Salamanca is in the west of Spain, in the Castilla & Leon region and 100 km from Portugal.

It is the home of one of the oldest universities in Europe. For centuries its streets have been brought to life by the many students, both foreign and from other parts of Spain. Salamanca has a young, vibrant and open atmosphere. It is a safe city and its relatively small size (180.000 inhabitants) makes it a comfortable and welcoming place to visit.

Salamanca has a rich cultural tradition and its nightlife famous throughout Spain.Salamanca can be covered on foot, allowing you to take in the beauty of the historic centre of the city, which has been designated World Heritage since 1988.

It is difficult to feel lonely in our city, it is easy to make friends and one feels that they don’t have time enough to enjoy all that Salamanca has to offer.
